SINUS AUGMENTATION

A sinus lift, also called sinus augmentation or sinus elevation, is a bone augmentation procedure in the area of your molars and premolars, when you have insufficient natural bone for dental implant placement. To make room for the bone, the sinus membrane has to be moved upward, or "lifted”.

Dental implants can be placed simultaneously during this procedure or after a healing period of 4 to 12 months.

The procedure wich many patients say causes only minimal discomfort, does not affect speech, intonation or cause sinus problems.

The sinus augmentation is designed to help ensure that your implants are long-lasting, with ample, strong and sturdy bone that will allow your new teeth to fit and function like healthy, natural teeth.

Contrary to this so-called external sinus lift, the sinus elevation locally at the site of implantation is referred to as internal sinus lift.
